KAC Knight's Armament Company FDE 5.56 QDC MCQ-1
Manufacturer: Knights Armament Company
Part Number: KM119354-FDE & KM119354-BLK
Product Description: With an additional length of only 2.3" (5.92 cm) how did weight of 13.9 oz (395 g) and low back pressure of the Pressure Reduction Technology (PRT) design, adding the Mini Close Quarters (MCQ) signature reduction device to a system will have negligible impact to function and handling. With a noise reduction rating of 12 dB, common single-layer, hearing protection is all that is needed for comfortable and safe use. PRT ensures that bolt carrier, velocity and cyclic rate of fire are nearly identical to unsuppressed use, with significantly reduced noxious gas exposure. The Quick Detach Coupling (QDC) ensures, minimal and consistent point of impact (POI) shift and is compatible with all KAC QDC Muzzle devices. A removable protective shroud that integrates with the suppressor locking color is available. The 5.56QDC/MCQ–PRT is recommended for those that prioritize overall system, weight, and length over sound level.

Pressure Management: To reduce the negative effects of suppressor, use, pressure, reduction, technology (PRT) suppressors, release contained system, pressure forward and away from the user and operating parts early in the unlocking an extraction phase of the cycle of operation. This venting process drastically reduce his user exposure to harmful combustion gases, reduces the "blowback" effect of residual, bore pressure and decreases the internal fouling. Compared to a traditional baffle design of similar size.
Signature Reduction: In 2017 KAC began a study to determine and address the cause of first-round flash with suppressor use. While purging the suppressor with an inner gas was successful in reducing the first round flash, it would be cumbersome for practical use. The solution was found any novel baffle matrix that uses the blast pulse of the contained pressure to mechanically remove the combustible environment from the suppressor. This patent pending design effectively reduces spectrum flash, as well as near, short-wave, and mid-wave IR "Infrared"; and eliminates the need for flash suppressant in propellants. KAC's "purge" technology does not impact system pressure or sound pressure levels, but does illuminate first round flash, as well as the audible "first round pop" found with traditional suppressors.
Durability: Advancement in simulation, analysis and manufacturing processes have also contributed to increased service life of KAC’s suppressors. Thermal energy is spread through the monolithic structure on internal paths, eliminating “hot spots” that can fail during extreme use. When tested under continuous-fire protocols, the suppressors indoor 1. 5–2 times the number of rounds fired before failure; and one failure occurs, the structural design ensures that all energy is projected down range with no lateral escape of fragments or debris.
